Living Room Conversation: Police-Community Relations

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Event Details

Policing has been getting a lot of attention in our country recently. Most of us have seen videos or heard stories about police-community relations, some positive, some negative. Within our own community, some of us may have had little or no interaction with police, while others have had one or many interactions. We would like to focus this conversation close to home on our personal stories, interactions, or impressions of policing in the Estes community, and will be joined by an Estes Park Police Department officer.

Living Room Conversations is a small group model for dialogue that facilitates connections between people. Come to the virtual “table” to share your perspective, learn about the experiences of others and potentially leave with stronger connections and a shared sense of community. This interactive program is participatory in nature: attendees will be asked to engage with and contribute to the conversation, so plan to have your microphone and video switched on. Optional: prepare ahead of time with the Conversation Guide

This program is offered as part of our Community Conversations program in collaboration with Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership, and in collaboration with Estes Park Police Department.

The Zoom link will be emailed upon registration. Please join us on Zoom a few minutes early to resolve any technical issues.
